Pancho Villa

Pancho Villa is one of the latest editions to the North Hobart dining and boozing scene located on the corner of Elizabeth and Pitt Streets in what once used to a bank.

With a stylish new re-fit, including skulls, mood lighting, dark furnishings and stained glass windows the ambiance is set for sampling a few cocktails, beers or tequilas…

On this occasion I went straight for the fiery signature cocktail – don’t be fooled by the presentation this concoction is a delightfully refreshing mix of Cucumber, Elderflower, Mezcal and Hendricks Gin – very drinkable indeed! (Once I was told what to do with the burning sugar that is!)

Mr Iced Vovo and I opted to go down the sharing path and had the following:

Salsa Flight - Lime Guacamole, Sweetcorn & Bell Pepper Salsa, Chipotle Rojo

I followed my cocktail with a Red Pig Mexican Ale - a perfect accompaniment!

Next time we would forego the chips and salsa round and mix it up between the entrees and mains with the hope of getting to try one of the dessert options which we had no room for this time.

Again, this is another walk-ins only restaurant, unless your booking is for over 8 people, so my suggestion is to get in early and enjoy a beverage or two, otherwise be prepared to stand out in the courtyard until a table becomes available.
