Welcome Back! And Hello 2013!
Iced Vovo is suitably pickled and stuffed from the festive holidays and is now back on line and all geared up for a fun year of blogging…
To start off here are a few pics from The Taste Festival held at the Princes Wharf in Hobart – this year from the 28 December until 3 January. The Taste festival, which has been running for 24 years, is organised by the Hobart City Council.
The Taste Festival offers visitors a chance to sample food, wine, cider and more from producers across the State. It is not all about food there are various entertainment venues with local and interstate bands and entertainers, a specific entertainment area for the kids, family twilight cinema and much more…
This year also saw The Taste spill out to the Parliament Lawns and along Salamanca lawns next to the markets were there was plenty more stalls, seating and entertainment for all.
The Taste also celebrates New Years Eve with the traditional family fireworks and midnight fireworks spectacular. This years’ theme was “All that Glitters”. There is an admission to the New Years Eve events but at other times The Taste is free.
It also coincides with the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, the Melbourne to Hobart yacht race and the Launceston to Hobart yacht race – needless to say the chances of seeing the harbor filled with boats is high!
