The second day of our family road trip we got up, and after visiting the gorgeous Design Centre in Launceston, we popped into the City Park next door to visit the Macaque Monkeys. There was a baby and a few toddler monkeys fooling about which were sooo cute and really kept the visitors entertained.
Next we headed on up the Tamar stopping off at an old Church or two, Hillwood Berry Farm, Hillwood Farmgate Store and Three Wishes Wines before stopping at Low Head to check out the Lighthouse and to have a coffee and an ice-cream break. From there we crossed the Batman Bridge to the other side of the Tamar and headed back down the other side taking in Marion’s Vineyard, an art gallery and, of course the magnificent vistas all along the way.
There is so much to see and do we only scratched the surface and it all takes time when you are in leisure mode, stopping, browsing and taking the back roads.
We decided to stay close for dinner the next night too taking the courtesy bus to the Launceston Country Club for dinner.
Tomorrow’s post is a glimpse at Day 3 – the final day of our mini Tasmanian adventure – until next time that is!
