The Raincheck Lounge in the heart of North Hobart is a relaxed yet funky café/restaurant serving up great meals from breakfast through to dinner.
The menu is interesting and varied with something to suit everyone from Coco Pops and Eggs Royale in the morning to soups, salads and sandbos at lunch through to tapas styles goodies at night.
I particularly love the Chef’s Table option that has always been a delectable mix of in-season produce whipped into a variety of magical concoctions to share between two or more. Whatever your preference, the food is fresh and very tasty.
There is an interesting wine list to choose from and a selection of cheese, for the dairy inclined amongst you, too!
On my recent birthday dinner celebration at Raincheck we had a bottle of Winstead Sauvignon Blanc with our Chef’s Table that included… Rice paper rolls with Thai dipping sauce, Crab omelette with miso butter and fried onion, Twice cooked pork belly with Asian salad and jasmine rice and Pineapple tart with coconut ice cream. This also came with house bread (and balsamic/olive oil dipping sauce) and steamed bok choy. We also added in a Pan-fried haloumi, roast lamb rump on a carrot puree and parsnip chips and an order of crinkle-cut fries with wasabi mayonnaise to share between the four of us.
Make sure you make a reservation as it can get very busy, as it was on the Friday night we were there, and you don’t want to miss out!
