Primus Hotel opened in December 2015, and it is fabulous example of art deco glamour in the heart of Sydney at 339 Pitt Street, the site of the former Sydney Water Board headquarters, with many of its iconic 1930’s features given a new lease of life and tastefully restored and decorated.
My Deluxe King Room was very generous in space and, like the rest of the hotel, tastefully decorated with that Art Deco feel continuing. The room offered a King Bed, 42 inch LED TV, iPod dock and chaise lounge. The bathroom, also generous in size, has natural light from a fluted glass panel and features a walk-in shower, Apelles amenities, towelling robes and all the other amenities you would except.
I also sampled their food and wine on two out of the three nights this trip and the quality in terms of service and produce did not disappoint. A full report on the food will be coming up in another post shortly.
The hotel even has a lovely roof-top bar and lap pool that I did try out and thoroughly enjoyed. The pictures below were taken on a rainy afternoon but when I went swimming the weather all day had been magnificent (see my upcoming post on Sydney activities this trip). Mind you it did start to chill down fairly quickly, so it was a short swim and then straight to the shower and then the bar for drinks and dinner!
Overall, a wonderful stay, excellent service and extremely well located within easy walking distance from both Museum and Town Hall Railway Stations.
