Many of you would be aware of the Australian duo Louise Olsen & Stephen Ormandy otherwise known as Dinosaur Designs.
Formed in 1985 Dinosaur Designs began selling pieces of fimo jewellery at Sydney’s Paddington Markets, their range now extends to include resin jewellery and homewares, silvery jewellery, artwork and a whole lot more and they have recently (in August of 2014) opened their first European store in London’s Soho district, at 35 Great Windmill Street. (I’d love to check out that shop OR the one they also have in New York! ;))
What you may not know is that they also have an Extinct Shop in Sydney at 585 Elizabeth Street, Strawberry Hills that is open: Wed-Fri: 9am-4pm; Sat: 11am-4pm; Sun: 11am-3pm. Here you will find end-of-line products and products with minor flaws that are offered at greatly reduced prices.
I have visited the store on my last two visits to Sydney and trust me when I say that for many of the items you will be hard pressed to find any faults!
With a wonderful range of products and colours to choose from I wiled away a good hour or more each time trying to decide and make my selection.
I just love the following servers and vase that are from the Safari Collection. The rich marbled golden colours remind me of melted caramel:
I also got these resin rings – oh so vibrant and add a splash of colour to an outfit and the day:
If you are on the look out for something interesting, unusual, colourful and creative for your home or a gift then I would highly recommend dropping in to the Extinct Shop – and if you’re already a Dinosaur Design fan then you’ll love the discounted prices too!
