Mr Iced Vovo is what I’d call timid in the kitchen! He is not a confident cook and has only one recipe that he makes and luckily he does that well! (Well, you’d hope it was a hum-dinger;)) His meringue is a wonderfully fluffy and marshmallowy concoction on the inside with just the right amount of crispness on the outside. Topped with thick double cream and chocolate, banana, berries, or a combination, it is a real crowd pleaser at parties, Christmas, bbqs or any other time he needs to take a dish. (I promise, I’ll give you his recipe with pics in another post.) But…one can not live on meringue alone! (Although he would try to convince you otherwise ;))
Well, that has just changed because we made a pact that when we moved to our new home Mr Iced Vovo would start to cook more and lo and behold here he is whipping up a pasta sauce!
Under my guidance I led him through a few chopping techniques and what order to put things into the pot. In this sauce we had:
A couple of large shallots
50 g of Primo Diced Pancetta
2 chopped tomatoes
About 1/3 jar Tomato passata
About 2 tablespoons of Lite Sour cream
Packet of Gnocchi
Well done Mr Iced Vovo! I now look forward to the next cooking lesson.
