Organic goods that Tang-talise!

Pamela Tang has used her art and design background to produce a love organic range of clothing and art that she sells through her shop on Etsy.

Iced Vovo had a little chat with Pamela to find out more about her product range:

Q: I read on you Etsy site where you studied fine arts, and industrial design and have worked in interior design before shifting back to making your own handmade products. What did you first start to make when you decided to get back into making your own range of products?

A: My first handmade products were a selection of homewares which included silk quilts, cushion covers and silk notebooks.

Q: Your range includes clothes to art and home furnishings – is this a direct influence from your previous training and experience?

A: My mum ran a fabric shop years ago and she use to make all our clothes and ballet costumes. She taught me how to sew. I then went off to college to study fine arts and then moved on to industrial design where my main interest was to design homewares.

Q: What do you most like to make?

A: No favourites here. Whether I’m painting or sewing what I love is that I find this process very therapeutic.

Q: Your products have a real organic, earthy feel to them was this intentional and what has influenced this as aesthetic?

A: I think nothing ever really comes out 100% as planned. There’s always that little element of surprise (in a good way). My mood plays a major role in the aesthetics, especially when I paint. I love all things old, modern, vintage, architecture, flora, fabrics, colour, texture the list is endless.. I couldn’t pin point it down to specifically one or two things.

Q: What new products are you thinking of adding to your range?

A: My mind is constantly filled with small projects and materials I’d like to explore. I just don’t have enough time and space to work on them. some of them include watercolour paintings, and leather products.

Q: What is currently your best seller?

A: The women’s clothing range.
