Since I know how much shoe features are popular on Iced Vovo (it seems I’m not the only one with a shoe fetish!) I thought I’d give these new pair of Troentorp Clogs their own post.
Purchased from Dragstar Clothing in Newtown on my recent trip to Sydney they have already been worn numerous times. In fact, I wore them everyday I was in Sydney and they have even had their first wear down here in Hobart too.
With a practical heel and lovely soft leather these clogs are comfortable and stylish. I just love the crossed pattern over the toes and the light colour wood compliments all kinds of clothing.
Here’s a little of what I found out about Troentorp Clogs:
They have been made since 1907 in Båstad Sweden in the south of Sweden, now over a hundred years ago! The small Swedish clog factory was started by August Johansson who learnt his trade from a local cobbler in the Bastad area and over the years the production process has been developed with August sons, Borje and Stig, taking over the clog factory in 1942.
With an emphasis on orthopaedics, the base of the shoes are made of alderwood, with the right proportions of the curvature in the insteps. This assists with lumbar support for people who spend all day on their feet working in their wooden clogs. They even make special clogs for customers in the restaurant and care industries who wear chef clogs and nurse clogs all day everyday – now that’s attention to detail for you!
Well I don’t know that I’ll be wearing mine quite that often but I do know they have already become a favourite pick in the closet.
