There is nothing I like more at Easter time than some warms Easter buns with lashings of butter and, of course, a chocolate egg or two! I haven’t actually got around to making my own buns as yet as there are so many good ones available from my local supermarket, favourite cafes etc. Easter buns are one of those things I don’t mind seeing stocked in the supermarket way, way, way, beforehand. While I don’t mind the choc chips buns that started to appear on the scene a few years back now, I’m still a fruit traditionalist when it comes to my most favourite bun. Although having just said that I had a sticky date and caramel bun on the weekend from Woolworths and it was divine! I’m definitely going on the hunt for some more buns before the long weekend!
One Hobart café I frequent on my way to work (Jackman and McRoss at New Town) makes particularly delicious buns full of fruit and some nuts too that make a wonderful brunch/lunch treat.
Here are some other Easter finds I’ve found that could make a special treat for someone who doesn’t partake in food festivities at Easter.
These cute bunny hair ties could make the perfect treat for those little ‘uns that are allergic to the easter-time foods. Found on Etsy at HMCdesigns.
If you’re in to making your own Easter treats why not jazz them up with these bright carrot toppers – great for appetizers, cupcakes or anythings else you can think of! Available on Etsy through Jackie and Sara.
